Tasting notes
Appearance:
Ruby purple with violet tints.
Nose:
Dominated by floral notes of rose and violet, opening up to smoky bacon aromas.
Palate:
Fresh attack with a beautiful vivacity brought by vegetal and peppery notes. The tannins are velvety. A long finish where notes of black fruits intertwine: blackberry and olive (tapenade).
Grape variety/varieties:
100% Syrah.
Harvest:
The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum ripeness.
Soil:
Blend of different terroirs from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Molassic sands, alluvial terraces of rolled pebbles. Originating from the lieux-dits Font de Michel, Les Grandes Cerfs ouest and Barbe d'Ane.
Vinification:
50% whole-cluster harvest. Vinified in concrete tanks.
Ageing:
Aged in demi-muids and large oak barrels "pieces" for a period of 12 months.
Alcohol content:
14
