Appearance:
Colour: deep garnet red
Nose:
Nose: red fruit (raspberry, blackcurrant), hints of liquorice
Palate:
Palate: round and elegant wine with concentrated and gentle tannins. The final is on blackcurrant, raspeberry and spicy (pepper) aromas.
Sommelier's advice: As an accompaniment, we suggest: grilled beef flank steak, creamy pepper sauce and roasted sweet potatoes
Grape variety/varieties:
100% Syrah.
Harvest:
The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum maturity.
Soil:
Blend of different Hermitage Terroirs, sedimentary soils (alluvium, loess, pudding) and granite soils with varying degrees of decomposition. Sectors of Bessards, Méal and Greffieux.
Vinification:
Vinification in small concrete vats after destemming. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and moderate use of sulphur. Maceration for 3 to 4 weeks.
Ageing:
Totally in casks and small wooden barrels for approximatively 18 months with 15% of new barrels.
Alcohol content:
13,5
