Appearance:
A coppery colour with sparkling ruby highlights.
Nose:
The nose is dominated by aromas of baked sugar and praline. This is followed by aromas of cold smoke and hints of curry.
Palate:
The palate is smooth and dense, dominated by notes of light tobacco. The finish gives way to fine notes of rancio where walnuts mingle with prunes.
Vinification:
The fine weather at the end of September put the northern part of the Rhône Valley in the limelight. With moderate heat during the summer, the whites were close to perfection in terms of balance. balance.
This eau-de-vie is produced by distilling our marcs from the 1996 vintage using our traditional all-copper column still.
It is then aged in French oak barrels (228 litres) French oak for 20 years. This ageing allowed it to acquire its copper colour and sparkling and sparkling ruby highlights.
