Appearance:
Its ochre colour has bronze highlights.
Nose:
The delicate nose of violets and prunes is complemented by notes of patchouli and undergrowth.
Palate:
The range of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruits present in the original white eau-de-vie has naturally evolved towards more candied and spicy nuances.
A touch of liquorice stick and ambergris complement this complex aromatic palette.
Vinification:
1966, an exceptional year.
Marked by excellent weather conditions, this was one of the most successful vintages in the Northern Rhône Valley, particularly on the Hermitage hillside.
Distilled from our northern wines using our traditional all-copper column still, this fine eau-de-vie was then aged in 228-litre French oak barrels for 40 years.
