The 2025 Vendanges du Cœur
On Sunday, September 7, the M. CHAPOUTIER Vins et Santé Association celebrated the 29th edition of the Vendanges du Cœur. This iconic event, which embodies solidarity and generosity, mobilized no fewer than 368 volunteers to harvest 48.5 tons of grapes.
This year, €17,000 was raised for the EFS Auvergne Rhône Alpes. That's more than €636,000 collected in 31 years!
A Real Impact
The M. CHAPOUTIER VINS ET SANTE Vendanges du Cœur day is much more than just a harvest. It represents a surge of solidarity and hope for patients and their families. Participants had the opportunity to talk with transplant donors and recipients, forging genuine and inspiring bonds. Healthcare professionals were also on hand to answer questions, facilitating a better understanding of the issues surrounding bone marrow donation and raising public awareness of this vital cause.
The Harvest of the Heart has two objectives:
→ To collect as many pledges as possible through the team pledge challenge.
→ To harvest as many grapes as possible, with Mr. CHAPOUTIER pledging to donate a contribution to the E.F.S. Auvergne Rhône-Alpes for every kilo of grapes harvested.
Moment of conviviality
The volunteers harvested grapes from the Maison M. CHAPOUTIER vineyards in the Tain l’Hermitage and Tournon-sur-Rhône areas. After a morning of harvesting, the volunteers and the Maison’s team of grape pickers gathered at Maison M. CHAPOUTIER to share a meal. It was a wonderful moment of conviviality and emotional exchanges.
Back to the origins of the harvest of the heart
The M. CHAPOUTIER Vins & Santé Association was created on April 19, 1994, by Michel CHAPOUTIER and a group of volunteers who were moved by the threatened future of a little girl suffering from leukemia, whose life depended on a bone marrow transplant, and the difficulties faced by the medical profession in finding a donor for her.
The M. CHAPOUTIER Vins et Santé Association aims to promote bone marrow donation in the Drôme-Ardèche region. This initiative gave rise to the idea of voluntarily harvesting as many grapes as possible and gathering as many commitments to become bone marrow donors as possible.
This is how the Vendanges du Cœur came into being in the Maison's vineyard. Since then, the Vendanges du Cœur has harvested more than 1,212 tons of grapes and encouraged 2,952 people to register as potential donors. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the EFS has been able to finance modern equipment for the HLA laboratories in Lyon, Grenoble, and Clermont-Ferrand, thereby guaranteeing cutting-edge care.
The 2025 figures
Volunteers mobilized: 368
Tons of grapes harvested: 48.5
Amount donated to EFS Auvergne Rhône-Alpes: €17,000
A Call for Solidarity
Currently, the donor registry in Drôme and Ardèche has 9,389 registered donors, making it the third largest registry in France in relation to the population. For 2024, 249 new donors have been registered, and the goal for 2025 is 332 new registrations.
We are calling on all healthy people aged 18 to 35 to get involved, particularly men from diverse geographical backgrounds, in order to increase the chances of compatibility with patients.
We would like to remind everyone that illness can strike anyone. In this context, solidarity is more essential than ever. Every promise to donate, every gesture counts. Together, we can continue to transform lives and make a difference for those who need it most.
See you next year for a new edition of the Vendanges du Coeur.
