Cerasinus 2022
Rhône Valley - Cornas
Dégustation
Oeil :
Black and deep
Nez :
Very dark, complex and showing slight reduction. One finds notes of wild, ripe black fruit. This is followed by notes of graphite, carbon and soot.
Bouche :
Massive attack on entry to the palate with fine, tight tannins and lovely mineral tension. One has the overall impression of volume, fullness on the palate, with structure, meat and chewiness. This is an elegant, powerful Cornas with a great deal of balance and finesse.
Cépage(s) :
Syrah
Vendanges :
The grapes are picked by hand.
Sol :
The plots are located in three different parts of the appellation. In the earlyripening areas of Cayret and Mazards, the soil is that of the foot of the slopes composed of alluvial deposits from a very decomposed granite base (gore). On the higher ground in the laterripening area known as Saint Pierre, the soil is composed of granitic sand interspersed with limestone and silt deposit. In the appellation’s northernmost area (Arlette), the hillsides are granite and have a higher limestone content.
Vinification :
Traditional vinification in concrete tanks with extraction achieved through pumping-over operations. Maceration lasts for 4 weeks.
Elevage :
The wine is aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
Degré d’alcool :
