Oeil :
Flamboyant colour with bronze highlights.
Nez :
On the nose, empyreumatic notes of tinder mingle with Bourbon vanilla and candied banana.
Bouche :
On the palate, the smooth attack gives way to a full, smooth texture. The bouquet is tinged with prunes and hints of coffee. The finish is curved and persistent.
Vinification :
The fine weather at the end of September put the northern part of the Rhône Valley in the limelight. With the heat moderated during the summer, the whites are close to perfection in terms of balance.
This fine eau-de-vie is produced by distilling part of our 1996 vintage wines in our traditional all-copper column still.
It was then aged in French oak barrels (228 litres) for 20 years. It then took on a flamboyant colour with bronze highlights.
