Wine Advocate # 173 Octobre 200787-88. The 2006 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche is a strong effort in this vintage from Michel Chapoutier. The wine is already delicious, showing notes of plum, black currant, and cherry in a straightforward, fruity style with good body and seductive aromatics. It is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah and should drink well for 4-5 years.

Wine Advocate # 170 Avril 200786. The 2005 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche which contains considerable Syrah, offers some herbal notes, dark ruby color, good fruit, medium body, and a straightforward style that is unlikely to inspire or displease.

Wine Advocate #151 (Feb 2004)The 2001 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche is a good value. More and more Syrah is being added to this blend, resulting in an excellent deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet aromas of black fruits and licorice. Medium-bodied, with sweet tannin and a big, fruit-driven finish, it should drink well for 2-3 years. Note : 87 / 100 |

Wine Advocate #138 (Dec 2001)Chapoutier appears to be building more stuffing into his bottom line Cotes du Rhone as evidenced by the 2000 Belleruche. A blend of equal parts Syrah and Grenache, it exhibits a deep ruby color as well as a sweet nose of black fruits, licorice, herbes de Provence, and earth. Tangy acidity provides definition and crispness to this medium-bodied, fruit-driven effort. It should drink well for two years. Note : 86 / 100 |

Robert M. PARKER Jr (THE WINE ADVOCATE / USA) Octobre 2000One of the better lower-priced offerings. A blend of Syrah and Grenache, it offers aromas and flavours of berries and cherries, tangy underlying acidity, fine elegance and finesse, and a floral, fruity quality. Pure and refreshing, it is best drunk over the next 2-3 years. 86-87 |

(WINE ENTHOUSIAST / USA) Septembre 2000A deeply colored blend featuring scents of leather, black-tea, animale, and mixed berries. A bit more tannic than others, but that just makes it all the better with a hamburger. A wine that conveys the quality of the vintage. |
Clives COATES (THE VINE / UK) July 2000Quite a lot of Syrah here. Rich, fat and quite mellow. Good grip. This is rather fine for a basic. Lovely fruit. Long and stylish. 2001-2005. |

(THE SUNDAY TRIBUNE - FOOD & WINE 2000/ Irlande) Décembre 1999Anyone who as tasted this Belleruche is bound to wonder if biodynamics have anything to do with the soft, exuberant fruit, the curious balance between being medium-bodied yet very intense on the finish, to say nothing of the sheer seductive nature of the whole thing. Too much Côtes du Rhône is a pale imitation of Beaujolais or simply too though and stringy for easy enjoyment. Belleruche is an example of how good it can get. |
Leslie Sbrocco (WineToday.com / USA) February 1999Kool-Aid for adults. A bright red color, this grenache-based wine sports explosive strawberry, cranberry and wild cherry flavors. |
Robert M. PARKER Jr (THE WINE ADVOCATE / USA) February 1999The pleasant, fruity, soft but simple 1997 Côtes du Rhône Belleruche (100% Grenache) is best consumed over the next year. |

Robert M. PARKER Jr (THE WINE ADVOCATE / USA) October 1997This 100 % Grenache wine, with its nose of pepper, red currants, roses, and licorice, is an attractive, medium-bodied, tangy Côtes-du-Rhône that is lighter than usual, but loaded with fruit. I would opt for drinking it over the next several years. |

THE GAZETTE / Canada) October 1997This illustrious estate has produced an exciting and thoroughly appealing red wine. Our highest recommendation ! |
(ATLANTA CONSTRUCTION / USA) August 1997Made entirely of Grenache, this robust red wine is a fine selection for grilled chicken, meaty fish (such as tuna) and all red and light meats (especially pork and duck). Complex and well-integrated, this is an elegant wine with soft tannins and plenty of berry fruit flavors. |
Robert M. PARKER Jr (THE WINE ADVOCATE / USA) August 1996Made from 100 % Grenache, it is a correct, sound, tasty, fruity, tart wine for drinking over the next 3-4 years. |
| Years : 1994 |
(ANNUAL WINE & SPIRITS BUYING GUIDE 1997 / USA) November 1996It has all the simple earthy cherry flavors you would want from a traditional red from the region. |
| Years : 1993 |
Thomas MATTHEWS (WINE SPECTATOR / USA) November 1995Smoky and herbal, with good, well-rounded ripe flavors of plum and black cherry. It finishes with a nice note of chocolate. |
Mark SPIVAK (FLORIDA WINE BULLETIN / USA) April / May 1995Brilliant crimson / purple color ; plums, currants and oriental spices on the nose. Lyrical and spicy, medium-bodied, with clean, clear black fruit flavors ; expands and amplifies with food. Moderately long finish, bolstered by the taste of grapeskins and fruit tannin. Rating : A- ($10). |
Robert M. PARKER Jr (THE WINE ADVOCATE / USA) June 1994Berry-scented nose, medium body, soft, elegant, expansive flavors, and a supple-texture. Its perfume and softness are very Pinot-like. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. |

Stephen BENNETT MW (WINE TIMES / New Zealand) March 1995Made from 100 % Grenache, this wine is garnet hued with a vibrant bouquet of spicy raspberries and a hint of black peppercorns. Light and tangy on the palate with fresh berry flavours and a spicy finish. Simply delightful. |
| Years : 1990 |
(WINE & SPIRITS / USA) November 1993Made from old grenache vines. Its silky texture and piquant flavors are more complex and elegant than what is normally found in a simple Côtes du Rhône. |
